EquiVisor Ambassador- Briana Atwell; Flare Up Free
By Ariana Curcio
Please welcome Briana Atwell to the EquiVisor team of ambassadors. Briana is an FEI level dressage rider and trainer based in Southern Pines, NC. Her 25+ year riding career started out in pony club where she worked her way to the upper levels of eventing. After a knee injury forced her to stop eventing; Briana discovered her true passion, dressage. Now she operates a full time training and showing program along with assistant trainer, Tyler Hornbeck. She is a USDF bronze and silver medalist, and has won multiple high score and year-end awards through the I1 level as well as top placings at regional championships. Her program focuses on developing both horses and students that are confident and successful as they progress towards their goals. Moving forward she has her sights set on Grand Prix as well as making the jump into the international CDI arena. When not riding and training she’s usually off on some fun family adventure with her fiancé, Jack, their 8 year old daughter, Hailey, and dogs, Sid and Mogar.
Briana on her EquiVisor:
“EquiVisor has been a total game changer for me especially because in addition to the “normal” risks associated with sun exposure, I also have the challenge of managing my autoimmune disease- Systemic Lupus Erythematosus. Lupus causes photosensitivity and even minimal amounts of sun exposure can cause a malar rash, migraines and trigger flare up’s. The difference in how I have felt since starting to wear my EquiVisor has been unreal. I even made it through our miserable North Carolina summer without having any flare up’s for the first time since being diagnosed 6+ years ago. It is well made & stays secure on my helmet. The EquiVisor is absolutely a must have for everyone who rides and I can’t recommend it enough, especially to sun sensitive people such as myself.”
